India-Pakistan War LIVE Updates: Trump claims India and Pakistan agree to full and immediate ceasefire
India-Pakistan War LIVE Updates: The conflict between the two neighbours has escalated to new levels. After the IMF loan approval, armed engagement increased at the border overnight, which continued in the morning today. The Ministry of External Affairs and the Ministry of Defence, in a briefing in the morning, said Pakistan's actions are escalatory and provocative. They said the Indian forces in retaliation targeted several military bases in Pakistan, including the Sialkot air base.
Pakistan deployed drones and fighter aircraft to target military bases and civilian areas. India has maintained that it does not want escalation, but Pakistan also must be committed to de-escalation. They also mentioned that Pakistan has been seen to move more forces to frontline areas, which is a sign of escalation. There is also an array of fake news and misinformation that is being circulated online, which citizens are advised to be wary of.
The Indian armed forces successfully intercepted aerial threats overnight, showcasing robust air defence capabilities. Key targeted regions included Jammu, Samba, Rajouri, Udhampur, Nagrota, Awantipora, Reasi, Poonch, Akhnoor, and parts of Punjab like Pathankot and Amritsar. In Ferozpur, three civilians were injured when debris from a downed Pakistani drone struck a home.
These attacks follow India’s precision military operation—Operation Sindoor—targeting nine terror hideouts in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) in retaliation for the Pahalgam terror attack, which killed 26 civilians.
